killbill.org FAQ:
- The main page is divided into 10 * 7 = 70 cells.
- Just click on the cell you want to modify.
- You may modify the image itself, and the mouse-over text.
- Note: the site administrators may lock a cell, in which case you obviously cannot edit it.
- Images displayed on the site are not actually stored on our server. So, you have to find an external image host first.
- If you already have an account on such an image host, or if you already know where the address of the image you intend to display, use the "Image address" field in the cell edit box. Note: Many sites frown on direct links from external websites (a.k.a. "hotlinking"), which is why you may want to use a free image hosting company instead.
- If you do not have such an image host, click on the "click here" link located right above the "Image address" field.
- A new window will open, and you will get an upload form. The form uploads your image to a free image host called ImageShack.
- If the upload is successful, ImageShack will show you the address of the image you just uploaded. In fact, you will be shown 5 choices. Copy any of the 5 choices (except the 4th) and close the browser window.
- Now paste the address of your image in the "Image address" field and hit the "Modify cell" button.
- It's an anti-flooding provision.
- You must wait at least 30 seconds after modifying a cell before you can modify any other cell.
- Moreover, any picture posted will remain online for at least one minute. If you try to modify a picture right after it has been modified (by yourself or by anyone else), you'll have to wait.
- Use the downtime to actually upload the image to the image host. Or to think twice about what you are about to post. ;)
- Prizes are regularly drawn at random. The first person to visit the site after a prize has been drawn wins.
- A list of prizes will be shown to the winner, which must pick one of them.
- Once you have picked your prize, you will be shown a promotional code or link, or you will be prompted for additional information to arrange delivery. Important: this information will be shown only once. Killbill.org will not be held responsible if you fail to act on it once the prize information has been disclosed.
- The first rule is: try and post pictures that are somehow related to the pictures currently displayed around it. That said, it is more a flexible guideline than an iron-clad rule.
- The second rule is: use common sense and be responsible. Don't be an asshat. Don't get anyone fired. Don't get anyone a heart attack.
- Posters' IP addresses are logged. Keep in mind that you remain liable for your illegal actions.
- Hate speech will not be tolerated in images, as text embedded in images, or as mouse-over text.
- Child pornography is likewise prohibited.
- Finally, respect fair-use guidelines when posting copyrighted pictures. You are responsible for determining the legality of your contributions before you submit them.
- All trademarks and copyrights on this page are owned by their respective owners. User-modifiable content is owned by the Poster. The Bill character was created by the makers of the original xBill game. The rest © 2007 killbill.org
- If your trademark is being abused by a poster, please notify us and after investigation, we'll remove the offending post.
- It's normal if you're visiting the site for the first time. Afterwards, your browser should keep a local copy of the images to speed up the site (this is known as caching).
- If it still takes forever to load every time, check your browser's cache settings.
- Unfortunately, it's a known Internet Explorer bug. There's little we can do about it.
- There are better browsers around anyway. Make the switch, and you'll wonder why you waited that long! ;)
- There are two ways to make such images go away. The first way is to replace the offending image with one more suited to your tastes.
- The second way is to flag the offending cell as offensive in the Edit Cells section. This feature will censor any image posted by the visitor that posted the offending picture or text.
